At work on a Saturday.

Bleh. But better than getting shredded at my back check on Monday.
For those that care
What is back check?
When one wants to build a school in So Cal, approval must be granted by the state. So you submit a set of building plans to the Dept of the State Architect. They review your drawings and 'mark them up'. Kind of like a teacher grading a draft. You then take it back and fix everything they didn't approve. A back check is when you return to the person who graded it and defend the documents. Similar to a thesis defense. Hopefully at the end of this painful process the approve the drawings and let you proceed with your project. Or they kick you out and say try again.
This is the first time I have ever gone through the process, I've never even seen it done. This entire process involves the coordination of about 6 different consultants. Project Manager (me) takes the brunt of this task. Mmmm... joys of a promotion.
In other news spring has arrived. And as a bonus my mood has improved enough that I am not currently hiding from 'the oppressive nature of sunshine'. The stress is high but we should all survive. At least most of us.
Back to work. More later.
