So as I mentioned before I have this little worry stone that I picked up in Dublin 2 years ago. And love to have in my pocket or bag to fidget with. It was a special trip with old friends and hence the stone has a fair bit of value to me. Well if carry anything around with me often it will invariably get dropped, alot. Marble will obvious only take this for so long and the little thing finally cracked into 3 pieces. So what to do with it?

1) put it back together. The break is jagged but clean. There are no bits missing so the pieces fit together tightly with only a slight seam. But can marble be adhesed?

2) Archive it. Find somewhere special to keep it and find something new to fidget with.

3) Polish the individual pieces and use them separately. May be the most honest approach to the sentiment of the item.

So, what would you do?

I agree, 1 or three... there are some excellent resins that will adhere to rough stone (check home depot, they should have adhesive in the granite countertop care and maint. section. however be aware that if you worry at it a LOT, it may wear a bit unevenly around the glu lines.....

Polishing the pieces may be the best option, but I would actually combine 2+3 here..... store two pieces and worry at the third.
