1. Leave me a random comment of no particular significance, like a quote , your favorite kind of ice cream, or maybe your favorite game. Any remark, meaningless or not.
2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in your own post.
5. When others respond with a desultory comment, you will ask them five questions.

1. Compared to your plans right after college, are you advancing through the world of architecture slower, faster, or at about the speed, you expect?
Since I won't have my license til next year sometime, I am running about a year behind on that. Otherwise I am happy with where I'm at. I don't think I really had a lot of expectations. My first job taught that I didn't want to do residential work. As time goes on I have more ideas as to what I want. And I still haven't given up on my in-school desire to do low income/transitional housing.

2. Have you found that your opinion of the military, or the Marines specifically, have changed since your husband joined up?
Yes and no. Yes, in that since we haven't moved 4 years I am more content than I thought I would be. I am also now privy to the tales of what the Marines do that isn't of the "kill people and blow things up" nature. I think a lot of the negative feelings of the public towards the military is undeserved.
No, in that if Steve were to be career it would seriously impair my ability to fulfill my career goals. You don't see to many professional women married to career military. (fyi career=20+ years in service)

3. You've never, that I've noticed, posted a picture of yourself to lj, or made a picture of yourself into an icon. Is this part of an active effort to maintain online anonymity?
No, I just don't like most pictures of myself. I did have a picture that I actually liked of Steve, Chris and I as an icon sometime last year but replaced it because I rarely used it and found something more interesting.

4. How do you find long-term separation from your husband affects you? Does it make you less stable? Do you find you put off "me-time" things for those occasions?
The first 2 or 3 weeks are usually great. I still sometimes miss living alone and the privacy/freedom that provides. After that I do tend to get a little (or alot) unstable. I find that I am more likely to sleep at appropriate times and eat real food if he's around. And both these things keep the demons at bay. I don't put of "me-time" stuff as a rule. We are pretty independent even if we do spend a majority of time together.

5. Do you see yourself ever designing your own home? What architectural style do you find you like the most for single-family homes?
YES! Actually that has been spinning around in my head for many months now. Generally I really like the Craftsman style bungalow for single family homes. The one I am looking to design will hopefully be a straw bale as well. This is dependent on location and local availability of bales. Regardless of construction it will be on the smaller side and use sustainable materials, maybe even some reused timber. (know anyone tearing down a barn?)

Hey. We don't know each other, but I wanted to thank you for those words. They make the underlying thought organic, changable and positive instead of a limiting pessimistic lie.

Hey, thanks! I'd love to take the credit but they're sadly not mine. The song is "Learning to Fly" by Pink Floyd. The rest of the album (_A Momentary Lapse of Reason_) is, um, hit-or-miss.

2. What are your spiritual beliefs?

3. Have you ever been in love? (not lust, female or male are equally acceptable.)

4. You are only allowed one game for the rest of your existence. Which one?

5. Do you have a favorite book/album/movie/something else that you escape into repeatedly? What is it and why.
