Finally...

...a weekend worth writing about.
So Friday after work we braved the treacherous 405 and headed for LA. Those who have frequented So Cal will understand the bravery of this act. We were meeting my sisteroceansfire (yes the twin one) and Co for the Das Bunker 10th anniversary show. Featuring VNV Nation, who I must admit I hadn't heard of til about a month ago when I was informed that this was their only US show this year and it would be morally wrong to miss it. Post show I may just agree. And even worth waiting 4 hours to start as the club logistics and security blew. We got back to O'side around 5:30. I need to do shit like this more so that I don't get my ass kicked by being out all night and feel old. Act 22 and you will feel it. The venue was decent, the crowd was gorgeous (a tasty mix of goth and industrial with a bit of punk for flavor) and the energy power enough to wash away annoyance and angst. >
Consequently Saturday I slept for like 12 hours. The late night combined with Thursday night's and Friday's vicodin induced sleepless haze pretty much trashed me. (No I am not an aspiring druggie, I had a root canal Thursday and took one in hopes of overcoming pain in sweet oblivion. Vicodin does not help me sleep apparently and as such made things worse) Saturday evening was spent watching C-span. I learned about The Black PAnther Party and various political opinions and forecasts for various upcoming elections.>
Sunday was vaguely productive and ended with book buying and craft shopping. (New watercolors for Me!)
I picked up 'Fast Food Nation' which I have been meaning to read for years. 'Faith and Politics', by a senator who is also a Episcopal priest. I found his interview thought provoking and wanted some more. I also ordered 'How to think like Leonardo Da Vinci' by recommendation of a friend.>
