1) Which is marginally less pathetic; a vampire wannabe or a sith wannabe?
Vampire. Being a wannabe anyway is pathetic and NO you will not convince me that you are a vamp without a serious display of invincibility. (I prefer the not bursting into flames lore. circa Bram Stoker) That and well the Victorian idea of vampires is damn sexy. Dark, mysterious and well dressed, throw in some long hair for good measure and I will follow you anywhere.
Yes I'm a geek, and yes I like the first 3 Star Wars films but, wanting to be a character from one is just lame.
2) What's your favourite March Violets song?
Crow Baby off of Botanic Verses
3) What song would you like to have played at your funeral?
It can't Rain All the Time -- Jane Siberry -- The Crow
It has been my favorite song for more than a decade,
that must mean something
Eye of the Storm -- The Cruxshadows -- DreamCypher
Something about this song cuts very deep, and Steve loves it
4) What are your thoughts on the Sophie Lancaster murder and the reaction from the goth and "alternative" community?
My first reaction was "How can a human being do that to another?!" Random violence is one thing. What was done to them was beyond disturbing.
After a good bit of thought on it I think that it does qualify as a hate crime. Discrimination is discrimination. And if that is how hate crime is defined, this qualifies. I have some stumbling blocks over harsher punishment for hate crimes. Brutal violence is brutal violence. Its all the same to the victim. That's an issue I still need to work with.
I am pleased with what I have read about the response of the 'alternative' community. In some ways I feel this falls into the realm of hazing. Really brutal, extreme, psychotic and far outside the norm but, still hazing. Hazing in my mind is persecution against someone who the hazer feels is lesser. It is nice to see the goth community especially standing behind the ideal of acceptance. As someone who was almost always an outcast, the goth community attracted because of its capacity for acceptance. In reality this is often not true but, when it is fulfilled it is a beautiful thing.
5) Have you read Dune? And if so, what's your opinion of the book?
Sad to say but no. The original is on my must get around to list
