This sounds somewhat familiar since I do something similar. Love the crossing off! I tend to use post-it notes (partly b/c ovrclokd brings me stacks for them from the Westin). The downside is that I ended up with lots of random 'notes with one or two items not crossed off. Sometimes I aggregate the old 'notes onto a new, clean one with the potential for all lines to be crossed off.
