My day job helps me exercise my mind. I also tend to be very curious. So, I come up with random research projects at home, and explore topics on the internet. For example, one of my latest research projects is connecting the evolution of classical philosophy to modern day American lifestyles, and western thought in general.
And, well, being a history major helps me with finding interesting things to research, and also offers me a decent baseline for positing assertions.
I also wish I had more time to read. My lame excuse is that my day job eats a whole lot of my time. And, hobbies (like cooking and wine drinking) also eat up time. So, I don't exactly have copious amounts of free time.
