my to-do list

is a strange, shifting, organic, almost sentient creature. It grows, changes and is trimmed throughout the day. I seem to do best if I make a numbered list first thing in the morning, then cross things off as I do them, adding on and crossing off other not-previously-listed tasks as I am distracted by them. Just because I hadn't planned on cleaning the kitchen doesn't mean I shouldn't get the satisfaction of crossing it off a list. I will use the same list for 2-4 days until it because bizarrely long and amoeba-like structure. [livejournal.com profile] reedrover was very amused when she saw it.

This sounds somewhat familiar since I do something similar. Love the crossing off! I tend to use post-it notes (partly b/c [livejournal.com profile] ovrclokd brings me stacks for them from the Westin). The downside is that I ended up with lots of random 'notes with one or two items not crossed off. Sometimes I aggregate the old 'notes onto a new, clean one with the potential for all lines to be crossed off.
