This is what happens when I forget to provide links. Nor check my spelling. I provided the wiki link above, but basically the Bechdel Test is a litmus test for sexism in film. In its original state it consists of 3 questions: 1: The film has to have at least two women in it, 2: Who talk to each other, 3: About something besides a man.
I like to keep it in mind when thinking about the things I watch. I usually don't use it as a decision maker as to what to see, but am trying to be more conscious of the effects of institutional sexism in pop culture.
